Clarence Porteous

Clarence plays a key role in the day-to-day running of our properties in Chamonix, where he helps ensure that everything runs smoothly and that both planned tasks and unforeseen challenges are dealt with efficiently. He handles a range of local tasks for the associations and helps to ensure that the details are taken care of on site.

With his calm and approachable manner, Clarence builds strong working relationships with both local partners and colleagues. He has a natural ability to find good solutions whilst ensuring ongoing dialogue and feedback to head office, ensuring consistency between local operations and overarching processes.

Clarence is also a familiar and valued figure among the owners, who always appreciate meeting him – whether it’s when he drops by the properties or when they bump into him around town. His presence and helpfulness help to create a sense of security and good relationships.

Clarence is originally from Sweden, but he has lived in Chamonix for many years and knows the area inside out. He lives here with his wife, their young son and the family dog – whom they rescued from difficult circumstances in the local area. In his spare time, he enjoys life in the mountains and makes the most of the many opportunities the area has to offer.
