Chamonix is the destination that has the steepest curve on the we-like-it-more-and-more-every-time-we're-here scale. Chamonix simply creeps slowly under one's skin, which is why Chamonix has become one of the preferred locations for our holiday homes.
Chamonix is one of the world's absolute best summer/winter destinations with endless opportunities for activities all year round. The town is located at the foot of Mont Blanc in the northwestern part of the French Alps and hosted the first Winter Olympics ever held in the city in 1924.
The valley is about 15 km long from Les Houches in the south to Argentière in the north. The town of Chamonix is located in the middle, but the entire valley is generally referred to as Chamonix as a whole. There are 5 different ski areas in the valley, of which only two are connected, meaning you have to drive or take the free ski bus to the chosen lift for the day. Chamonix is the perfect place for a holiday home that you can visit all year round.
In the area around your holiday home in Chamonix, you will find all kinds of challenges for the experienced and one of Europe's best off-piste areas, including the world's longest off-piste route - Vallée Blanche - over 20 km long with a drop of around 2,700 meters. The route can be enjoyed by regular skiers in good weather, but it is recommended to have a guide with you. There are also plenty of skiing opportunities on groomed slopes for the less experienced, as Chamonix is a mecca for skiers of all levels.
Few people are aware that there are actually more tourists in the city in the summer than in the winter. There are a plethora of activities you can engage in all year round, making Chamonix the perfect place to have a holiday home.
