There are many opinions on where the "real" Tuscany is. Our experience is that the area south of Florence, which many consider the heart, has become too touristy as a significant number of Northern and Central Europeans have bought holiday homes or vacation in the area.
For our holiday homes, we, therefore, look a little further west - closer to the coast. Here, it is still possible to find smaller towns that are not overly influenced by tourists and therefore retain their authentic charm. But we also look in the area around Florence.
